The 99th edition of the international leather fair ended at Rho-Fiera Milano
Finally the return to presence for Lineapelle and for all the stakeholders of the leather sector. A fair still conditioned by the forced absence of some operators from important markets, such as the Asian ones, but which has provided interesting insights to understand trends and new opportunities.
Desire to restart and reaction to the difficulties of this historical moment: this is how the edition number 99 of Lineapelle can be summarized according to the opinions of the members of the Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium present at the fair.
Technical events and sustainability. The Consortium, in collaboration with ICEC – Certification Institute for the Tanning Industry, proposed a talk of a technical nature entitled “The procedural Guidelines of Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium” in which all the requirements of the new Procedural Guidelines, that have just entered into force and the guarantees that the tanneries associated with the Consortium can offer to their customers have been explained: origin and traceability of the raw material, vegetable tanning, production in Tuscany, environmental, social, health and safety legislative compliance.
Unique Pieces – The faces of Lineapelle. During the February 2020 edition, the Consortium had organized its stand as a photographic set with professional photographers who captured the faces, expressions, mood of visitors, exhibitors and authorities present at the fair. After two years of forced stop, the faces of Lineapelle have finally returned to populate the fair with the photo gallery of those author’s shots exhibited in Pavilion 15 in the exhibition “Unique Pieces – The faces of Lineapelle“.
Casaconcia – Radio. Not only the faces, but also the voices: another creative innovation brought to Lineapelle by the Consortium was the installation of a radio station at its stand from which Lineapelle’s voices and sensations could be transmitted. During the three days of the fair, various personalities were interviewed and some conversations were broadcast in live streaming on the Consortium’s Facebook channel, including Andrea Costanti from the Conti Costanti Farm in Montalcino, Bianca and Iacopo Pianigiani from the Sienese artisan company of the same name, Fabrizio Nuti and Fulvia Bacchi, respectively President and Director of UNIC – Italian Tanneries. An idea, that of the radio station, which aroused curiosity and collected a good success and which could perhaps be revived to make it a fixed appointment.
