Leonardo Volpi appointed as Consortium Chairman for next two years

The new Board of Directors of Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale (Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium) appointed President Leonardo Volpi at the Consortium’s leadership for the next two years: 2021-2022.

He will be assisted in his mandate by two Vice Presidents: Massimo Boldrini and Paolo Testi.

The new Board of Directors was elected during the annual general meeting of the consortium members held on February 23rd, 2021. These are the other members elected: Michele Battaglia, Manuel Casella, Andrea Ghizzani, Stefano Pinori, Paolo Quagli, Simone Remi, Martina Squarcini and Luca Tempesti.

I am really glad for this appointment and for the trust placed in me. A special thanks goes to the outgoing President Simone Remi who led the Consortium with excellent results.

My goal as the new President of the Consortium – says Leonardo Volpiwill be to carry on the project of the promotion and internationalization of vegetable tanned leather, undertaken in the recent years: this will only be possible through the teamwork of the entire Council and the member tanneries, a contribution that it has never been lacking and, I am firmly convinced, it will continue, indeed I hope it will increase.

To face the battles that await us in the near future we must continue to collaborate as colleagues rather than competitors. I believe this is the spirit that has allowed a group of companies led by entrepreneurs, who have been friends for years, to achieve important goals at an international level, ensuring that today the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium is recognized as an Italian and international reference point of Vegetable tanning.

I wish the Consortium, the Boards of Directors and the Operational Commissions to continue to work with this type of cohesion and spirit, setting ambitious goals to achieve important awards”.
