A project started over two years ago, with the paperwork signed and the beginning of the renovation works that would have shaped “casaconcia<\/strong>“, our new headquarters.  The Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium has finally moved into a part of  the historical building of “Conceria dell’Orologio” in Ponte a Egola.

A building restored to become a multi-purpose auditorium for the promotion of the local tanning industry and Tuscan culture. With this initiative our Consortium decided to strenghten even more its connection with local history and territory,  giving value to a precious piece of the local industrial heritage, while continuing its work of internationalization. The aim is to create a new structural context to promote “vegetable-tanned leather”, Tuscan Know-how and creativity of Tuscan leather craftsmen.<\/p>\n

The reasons for this choice<\/h2>\n

Consortium, since its birth in 1994, has always carried out promotional activities<\/a> in countries that could be potential markets for the activities of its associated tanneries. But the world has changed, and also consumer perception: that’s why,  in addition to continuing its consolidated actions, time has come to work in a different way: to promote and enhance our territory it’s only the first step.<\/p>\n

“casaconcia” and its spaces<\/h2>\n

“casaconcia” includes two distinct areas. The first one works as exhibition hall, always open to visitors. It’s a space that tells about the local manufacturing tradition, not only tanning, and it will present, all-year-round, painters, sculptors and other artists’ exhibitions. The second space has been designed to host training activities, cultural events and technical workshops. Craft The Leather<\/a> and other events about vegetable tanning will be hosted here, besides presentations of other Tuscan high-quality products.<\/p>\n

“casaconcia” is a new multi-purpose auditorium that speaks to the world about Tuscan leather and its peculiarities. A location that could become in a short time the international reference centre of vegetable tanned leather.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
