Nine students, from international fashion and design institutes of excellence, participated in Craft The Leather 2016:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Masahiro Abe<\/strong> \u2013 Bunka Fashion College &#8211; Japan<\/li>\n<li><strong>Giulia Andreoli<\/strong> \u2013 IED Istituto Europeo di Design &#8211; Italy<\/li>\n<li><strong>Whitney Yu Bai<\/strong> \u2013 Rhode Islands School of Design &#8211; USA<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shannen Gallardo<\/strong> \u2013 Fashion Institute of Technology -USA<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kira Anne Goodey<\/strong> \u2013 Royal College Art \u2013 UK<\/li>\n<li><strong>Young Bin Kong<\/strong> \u2013 Kookmin University \u2013 South Korea<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aleksandra Kukula<\/strong> \u2013 Northampton University \u2013 UK<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nasami Kushino<\/strong> \u2013 Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry &#8211; Japan<\/li>\n<li><strong>Helga Sigurdardottir<\/strong> \u2013 SLEM \u2013 Netherlands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each student designed and made an original collection of personal accessories in Tuscan veg-tanned leather,\u00a0 all of high quality for content and manufacturing, which were displayed at Lineapelle in Milan from February 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0 to 23<sup>rd<\/sup> , 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lineapelle<\/strong> is one of the most important international leather fairs and this edition of the trade show was visited by over 20.000 professionals. The stand of Craft the Leather at Hall 9 achieved resounding success and received gratifying feedback by designers, manufacturers, and press on the quality of the exhibited prototypes, with thousands of visitors who stopped by to review and photograph the collections. This\u00a0 result is confirmed by over 1,000 ballots cast by the professional community visiting the fair. The collections in competition were voted by a Panel of Experts, by the visitors at the fair and online by the consortium\u2019s followers.<\/p>\n<p>The panel of experts who formed the jury were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Antonella Bertagnin<\/strong> &#8211; Creative director and \u201cTrend Selection\u201d coordinator at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lineapelle-fair.it\/en\">Lineapelle,<\/a> she is today considered to be one of the foremost and most trusted Italian trendsetters in the field of footwear and leather goods<\/li>\n<li><strong>Roberta Bindi<\/strong> \u2013 Editor in Charge of<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collezioni.info\/\"> COLLEZIONI<\/a>. Distributed in over 54 countries, the Collezioni group is the undisputed leader in the fashion magazine sector, at the service of trade operators, opinion leaders and anyone with a passion for images and creativity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marco Marchetti<\/strong> \u2013 Studio 44, design and product research studio<\/li>\n<li><strong>Liza Snook<\/strong> \u2013 Shoe collector, founder of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualshoemuseum.com\/\">Virtual Shoe Museum<\/a> (the online museum &#8211; a renowned platform for shoe designers and shoe lovers) and curator of exhibitions and events all over the world.
